I'm being audited and I think it may be my fault?

If you've been hiring a reputable tax company to do you're taxes you probably don't have anything to worry about. The IRS probably just got a red flag on one of your returns. Tax companies are supposed to know what they're doing and most of the larger ones straighten out problems like audits. People put their trust in tax preparers to file correct returns. You would be in a lot of trouble if you intentially lied on a return, but it sounds like you have an oversight. What you might want to do is contact a tax attorney and explain the situation to them. They should be able to advise you.
