Japanese People...?
While I am not Japanese, I've learned a bit about the culture due to my long-time involvement in the martial arts. Japan has long had a culture of civility and politeness, especially when compared to the rather "in your face" American culture. This culture is obviously changing as Japan mingles with the world culture and its youth embraces a great deal of the freedoms and "wildness" of its American brother. One just has to look at the abandon of the club culture in Japan to see how wild it can really get. However, this does not discount the long-held beliefs that honor, saving face, and behaving in a way that will not embar or disgrace one's self or one's family that have shaped Japanese society for hundreds of years.
