While you're cleaning it, it's lubricated so it's easier to move. You shouldn't move it around all the time for no reason though, that's what makes it infected. You're supposed to leave it alone when it's new so only push it down if you have to and make sure your hands are clean. Also, use sea salt. Table salt has iodine in it, which would be way to harsh.
